Who pays for Hospice Care?

Someone with a life-limiting illness with a life expectancy of 6 months or less is eligible for the Medicare or Medi-Cal Hospice Benefit, which covers our hospice services. You have paid into Medicare all your life and now can receive some benefits. Hospice is covered under Medicare Part A if you are 65 or older. If you are under 65, hospice can also be paid for by private insurance, an HMO, or Medi-Cal since these include a hospice benefit.
