Volunteers
All of our volunteers go through our Hospice Volunteer Training to help them understand their very important role as a part of our Hospice Team. When you hear someone say, “hospice volunteer” you may think a person helping give physical care to patients. We do not have our volunteers help with the physical care of our patients. We have excellent staff that provide those services, however volunteers can provide something extra. The role of our volunteers is to brighten the day of our patients and their families. They come to the patient’s home and offer their time and support to sit with them while the family or caretaker can get a break. The family or caretaker may choose to stay and enjoy our volunteers company, take a much needed nap, or go get some shopping done. Our volunteers typically spend 30 minutes to an hour for each visit. The time they spend driving also counts towards their volunteer hours.
We love to acknowledge our volunteers as well with special events and certificates showing the time you have given supporting our mission. Grace and Glory Hospice Volunteers bless the families and communities we serve and we can’t thank them enough! Start the process of becoming a part of our volunteer team and apply today!
